Okay, I'm honestly guessing I won't be the first to make a joke of this kind, but still I couldn't resist!

Went to see Inception the other day, and loved it. The visuals were just plain incredible, but they didn't detract from the plot, which itself was superbly paced. (Excellent score too, which worked well to keep it all tied together!) Definitely worth watching!

Admittedly I'm not exactly the kind of person to write a movie review, so I'll just say this: Go See Inception right now! XD

So, apology time… I'd like to say sorry to:
a) Christopher Nolan, for the terrible face-drawingness!
b) Leonardo DiCaprio, for the same reason as above!
c) Anyone who hasn't seen Inception, or doesn't know what exactly it's about, for this comic probably not making all that much sense!*

*If this is you, then you should fix that by going to see Inception this very moment!
(And if you need further reason to do so, then consider that Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were essentially warm-ups for this movie!)

It's so true. It was such a great movie. I could go see it again, RIGHT NOW. Totally worth spending another ten bucks on!

Epic film is EPIC!

The visuals were just plain incredible. "plain incredible" is an oxymoron, how could the visuals be incredible and plain at the same time? visavis plain meaning ordinary and incredible meaning extraordinary. Like saying "amazingly bland" it just doesn't sound correct the way you said it. Anyway funny comic I get it.

"Just plain" is a phrase which mean the same as "quite simply".

you fail

Anon (Guest) July 22nd, 2010, 2:03 pm

He said plain incredible, not "just plain" something can't be plain and incredible at the same time it's either one or the other. If he said the visuals where "Just plain" then that would have meant he didn't think they where incredible in the first place, it's not proper.

Passive Aggressive is also an oxymoron ;)

Good point, Anon, it's not proper; it's also not an essay! :P As I don't write comments here in a formal manner, I use a lot more colloquialisms than I normally might. However, since it is only written word, that means that certain emphases and inflections are absent—making the text itself much more open to misinterpretation—so I can't really blame anyone there.

To clarify, by "just plain incredible" I did mean something along the lines of "incredible, in the purest sense/form of the word".
But as I say, casual speech without the actual speech is obviously more widely open to misinterpretation.

Anyhow I'm just stepping in here to prevent the comments on this comic from becoming a pedantic argument about grammar. All this oxymoron talk is getting pretty ugly!

@Oman: Don't worry, no major spoilers beyond initial plot-setup! I was a lil' hesitant to do this as a strip, at least so soon after it's release, but I just couldn't help myself!

@Everyone else: Cheers for commenting! Let's try to keep it civil from here on out though, folks ;)
